Oats are not Keto friendly
As much as I love the miracle of the oatmilk latte, the problem is that oats in liquid form are, sadly, one of the fastest carbs you can consume. I’m not the first to suggest using butter as an alternative but, if you want something to soften your coffee, it is the way to go if you’re following Keto.
Oats in and of themselves are a great food, but they’re not low carb by any stretch. The other problem with oatmilks is the level of processing that is involved and the use of oil seed.
If someone tells you “Oats are also extremely high in fiber, which slows down the release of sugar into the bloodstream, making Oat Milk a healthy alternative for those with diabetes. “ - I would be very skeptical of that statement, since by the time the oats have made it into a liquid form all the fibre that was binding the carb has gone and it’s mostly just suspensionized carbohydrate remaining.
I have found that my weight loss accelerated after I dropped Oats.
